Nigerian Governors on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) are currently meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja over the lingering leadership crisis in the party.

The meeting is coming less than 24 hours after Senate President Ahmad Lawan disclosed that the president and other party leaders would begin moves to resolve crisis plaguing the party in the next few days.

Present at the meeting are the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu; Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong and Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru.

The APC crisis worsened last week with the suspension of the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi also defected from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party.
