Divine Ikubor, professionally known as Rema, has announced that his music sound and genre will be called Afrorave, a sub-genre of Afrobeat.

Rema stated this on Saturday with his official Twitter account, @heisrema.

“From this day my sound will be called “Afrorave” a sub-genre of Afrobeat, my Album seals this claim for good.”

He further emphasized in another tweet that his sound, which was insulted by everyone to be Indian, is currently the sound musicians are using now.

“My sound y’all called Indian, everybody doing it now,” he wrote.
