The iPhone are here! The iPhones are here! Those exclamation points might be a bit too much since the yearly arrival of Apple’s crop is no longer met with around-the-block lines. But if you want the digital equivalent of that, you can pre-order the lineup.
The 14 and 14 Plus have improved battery life and cameras over previous models, as well as the new Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite safety features. The iPhone 14 starts at $799, while the 14 Plus starts at $899. And the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have a new A16 Bionic chip and a Dynamic Island feature that adapts to the activities on your phone. The 14 Pro starts at $999, while the Pro Max starts at $1,099.
These are, of course, the latest iPhones, so there aren’t any discounts per se. But there are definitely ways to save. You can trade in your old phone, sign on for a carrier payment plan, and see if you qualify for bill credits. Here’s what you need to know to get the best deal.
Pre-Order Times
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will go on sale at the same time but ship nearly a month apart. Pre-orders begin at 5 a.m. PT on Sept. 9 for both phones. The iPhone 14 arrives on Sept. 16 and the iPhone 14 Plus arrives on Oct. 7.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max pre-orders also begin Sept. 9 at 5 a.m. PT, and both will be in stores starting Sept. 16.
Apple will sell the iPhone 14 via apple.com/store, the Apple Store app, and in Apple Stores. You can pay full price or in installments. Prices go up depending on how much storage you select, and Apple offers trade -ins (Open in a new window) if you want to swap an older iPhone for a new one.
