Opay, has announced that it would temporarily shut down some of its business units to focus only on financial technology services.

The company, in a press statement, blamed policies by the Lagos State Government which banned commercial motorcycles across the majority of the Lagos metropolitan area and the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The business units that have been put on hold by the company include all its ride-hailing platforms such as ORide and OCar, as well as its delivery business OExpress.
